About us
Why DrorSolutions?
You could invent a nice story. For example, say that the sparrow represents lightness and flow in problem solving, and that by standing on a flipped letter it tries to step outside standard ways of thinking. Sounds nice? Yes. Is it true? Not really.
The real answer is much simpler. It was the first word that came to mind when I was looking for a name for the business.
Why Dror? Because I like complexity. And for someone who immigrated from Russia not long ago, it is genuinely not an easy word, and not particularly easy to pronounce either.
Where did the sparrow come from?
So where did this sparrow come from, the one with a right-angle triangle under its tail?
The beginning
My name is Gavriel Shindorikov. I was born and raised in Russia. From the age of 17, I worked in a family business that produced hangars and steel structures. Over 18 years of work, I went a long way — from installation work, through site management, to lead structural engineer.
The work was always complex, varied, and demanding responsibility. I always felt that this is how it should be. Otherwise, it simply isn’t interesting.
From a young age, the young sparrow was pushed out of the nest and sent on a free flight, under the close supervision of the main sparrow.
Learning to fly
Pretty quickly, I understood that work itself is not enough. The sparrow’s mind needs constant feeding. That is why I went on to study engineering, while at the same time getting the opportunity to work as a site manager.
The success of the sparrow who knows the Pythagorean theorem did not take long to arrive. For six years, I successfully combined practical experience with academic knowledge.
Going deeper into steel structures
After finishing my studies, I did not think about stopping. The sparrow went deeper into the world of steel design and structures. During that period, maybe without fully understanding why, but with a real desire to fill my head with knowledge, I read professional literature, standards, and engineering calculations.
When a designer position opened up, the sparrow happily jumped from one branch to another.
It would be wrong to say that it was easy. Many things had to be thought through again and learned again. But the huge amount of field experience, together with engineering education, started to have an effect. The sparrow began designing real steel structures, taking into account fabrication, installation, and future use.
Migration
After another six years of work, in line with a principle that guides me, I continued to study English and, in parallel, started learning Hebrew. When the time for migration came, the sparrow set off on its way — to Israel.
The nest
Today, DrorSolutions is my nest. A small business focused on the design and fabrication of steel structures, with attention to details, calculations, and non-standard challenges.
I like complex projects, non-standard solutions, and a straightforward, honest engineering approach. Like the sparrow, I am easy to move, but serious at work.
Friends
The sparrow is a flock bird, so when tasks become more complex, other sparrows step in.
Working together with trusted colleagues, we deliver a wide range of projects and complement each other’s strengths.
What else does the sparrow like
I continue to learn English and Hebrew. There is progress, but the road is still long, especially when it comes to speaking.
I enjoy sports and exploring Israel. Since moving here, I’ve discovered the country’s nature, and almost every weekend I head out on a new adventure, exploring lesser-known places.
